So my next two posts are going to be a little off-track from what I normally want to write about in this blog. They are, however, things I sort of feel a need to write about. This one's pretty "surfacy"...literally and figuratively.
I'd like to present my "unofficial" review of TNS Essential Serum by Skinmedica.
I first heard of TNS Essential Serum on the t.v. show "The Doctors." Now, I normally don't have the t.v. on in the afternoon, but I had seen earlier that morning that they would be discussing the most effective anti-aging tools on The Doctors that day, so I wanted to hear about that. So, I listened as a dermatologist got everyone excited about TNS Essential Serum. She said, "...this is serious science people!" They talked about how they had been using this science on burn victims for years to repair their skin damage and now they've figured out how to repair facial skin, signs of aging, fine lines, age spots all with this serum. SOLD!!! I looked at a few reviews on line and decided this was finally the one thing that could stop my skin from aging what seems to be so quickly lately!!
TNS ES retails for $250 - I have never paid so much in my life for a skin product!! I found it on line for $196...probably could have found an even better price if I would have looked longer. Still, I have never paid so much for any skin care product...but I had just been paid for helping with a project and had the cash and decided that this would be how I would treat myself.
My unofficial review is this: please save your money!! Let my mistake save you the effort!! At $250 for a 1oz. bottle of something that is "serious science" one should expect dramatic differences within the use of the first bottle. I'm not delusional...I didn't expect results in the first 2 weeks...but by the end of the product I was expecting my fine lines to be pretty much diminished...I was expecting some age spots to be gone...I was expecting SOMETHING. What I got was nothing - honestly - no change at all!!
If any of you have found something that you feel has really helped your skin please feel free to share a comment here. I know that aging is inevitable - I just don't want it to show SO much!!

I am so sorry this happened to you! I have never heard of the product.
The only thing I can think of is water. Drinking lots and lots of water keeps your skin hydrated and looking young, so I've heard. But it's free!
Can you get your money back?
Ugh.
I just popped by to tell you that I got your entries for my birdcage giveaway, thank you!
Those crevices on our faces?
Laugh lines, not wrinkles.
aLmYbNeNr,
I'm a huge fan of water! But also of coffee and diet soda...lol!! I suppose if I cut out the latter and stuck to water it could benefit me. Thanks! Dustine
Leslie,
I've posted your blog on my facebook page a couple of times now...I think several of my friends have stopped by to read up on your decorating ideas and other insights.
I'd rather keep on laughing than worry about lines...lol!! But maybe I'll find a magic cream someday...haha!! Take care...Dustine
*sigh* I can't stay away from the coffee either. Or Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry. Mmm.
LOVE Diet Dr. Pepper!!!
It is soooo yummy. :)
OUCHIES!!! But hey, it was fun trying it and now you can be a voice against it and warn others! I love coconut oil and my mom recently bought me lots of skin care stuff called Cellbone: http://www.emersonww.com/Cellbone.htm
I have been seeing results. My mom is 70 and looks amazing. It has collagen in it and I always make sure its not from a human source or no animals were hurt or wounded....this passed the test. The peel has whats been the most amazing for my skin.
Hi Dustine!
I read your response to me above--you are so so sweet!
I am so honored that you would put a post of mine on your facebook!
And I am so blessed to read all your comments all the time--it always make me smile when I see your name!
YOU GIVE ME SMILE LINES :)
Yummy.
You are a blessing!
Hugs!
P.S. I think you are beautiful, and cannot see any wrinkles when I look at your pictures!
Dustine,
I have heard the Oil of Olay products are good (I believe it's the Regenerist products). Also, I have had success in the past w/ the Neutrogena products.
Sorry to hear you were burned by this company. Thanks for the heads up! :)
